More about Ryan Urquhart (pronounced "erk-heart")
Ryan Urquhart is an award-winning play-by-play broadcaster and primarily calls games for the University of Florida athletics on SEC Network+ and Learfield.
He currently leads SEC Network+ broadcasts of Florida men's and women's basketball, softball, gymnastics, and soccer broadcasts, while also serving as the radio voice of Gators women's basketball, softball, and soccer.
In addition to his work at Florida, Urquhart works with the American conference for football and championship events for baseball, softball, volleyball and soccer.
Since 2021, Urquhart has also worked extensively with the University of South Florida, calling ESPN+ broadcasts across multiple sports and serving as a fill-in broadcaster for radio football and baseball coverage..
Urquhart also serves as an adjunct instructor for an introductory broadcasting class at the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications.
At just 22 years old, while still completing his degree, Ryan led the launch and development of the Identity Varsity Network, a project initiated by Vinik Sports Group (ownership of the Tampa Bay Lightning). In addition to leading all play-by-play broadcasts, he managed logistics, engineered hundreds of live broadcasts, created in-game and social media graphics, wrote sponsor reads and preview articles, edited video and photo content, and helped oversee social media for the entire Identity Tampa Bay brand. Over three years, content he created or contributed to generated more than 2.4 million impressions across Twitter and Instagram.
A 2020 University of Florida graduate, as a junior Urquhart was recognized by the Sportscasters Talent Agency of America in 2019 as one of the nation's top five collegiate broadcasters nationally.
Ryan has made additional stops calling radio and streaming broadcasts at FIU, Bellarmine, the NPF, the NCCAA, the NYCBL, and more.
